Terms of Service

The rules that apply when you buy from this site. Plain wording, no traps.

Who you are dealing with

First Ave Pet Shop, 702 W 35th St, Chicago, IL 60616, United States. Contact: [email protected], +1 312-265-1205. Using this site means you accept what is written here.

Placing an order

Your order is an offer to buy. The contract exists when we send the confirmation email. We may decline an order — stock, payment, address or suspected resale — and if we do, you are refunded in full and owe nothing.

Prices and availability

Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice, but never after you have ordered. Stock counts are our best information and can occasionally be wrong; if an item sells out between your order and our picking run, we tell you and refund that line.

Obvious pricing errors — a decimal in the wrong place — are not binding. We will contact you and either honour the correct price or cancel and refund.

Product descriptions

We describe items using measurements and materials taken from the product itself. Colours vary between screens. Where a manufacturer supplies sizing, we pass it on as given; check it against your own animal before ordering, particularly for harnesses, collars and crates.

Using the products sensibly

These are pet supplies, not medical devices. Nothing sold here treats, diagnoses or prevents illness, and nothing on this site is veterinary advice — ask a vet. Supervise your animal with any new toy or chew, and follow the manufacturer’s weight and size guidance.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your login. Give us a real address and a real contact — a delivery sent to a wrong address you supplied is not something we can recover. We may close accounts used for fraud or abuse of our staff.

What belongs to whom

The text, layout and photography on this site are ours or licensed to us. Brand names and manufacturer images belong to those manufacturers. Do not copy our pages onto another shop.

Limits on our liability

We are responsible for delivering what you ordered, in the condition described. We are not responsible for indirect losses — missed events, consequential costs — or for damage caused by using a product against its instructions. Nothing here removes rights US consumer law gives you.

The other pages

Shipping, Returns & Refunds, Cancellations, Payment and Privacy form part of these terms.

Governing law

Illinois law, US courts. If any clause here is unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes

We update these terms as the business changes. The version live at the moment you order is the one that governs your order.
